Münster University

Münster University was founded in 1771 and today is amongst Germany's most renowned and popular universities. It is located in the centre  of Münster and shapes the life of the city.

Münster has Germany’s third largest university, which consists of fifteen faculties with 5,000 staff and 40,000 students. It also attracts over 200 visiting academics each year and its foreign students make up almost 10 percent of the student population. The University's various departments are at the forefront of research in Germany and very well funded (their budget in 2005 amounted to 280 million Euros). The Law Faculty enjoys a particularly high reputation as reflected in the German university rankings. 

Münster University is a founding member of the International Network of Customs Universities (INCU). This organisation was founded in 2005 under the auspices of the World Customs Organisation. It aims to create a comprehensive database of universities and other institutions involved in Customs research, education, development and capacity building activities.
