Dr. Hans-Georg Raber

Dr. Raber studied law at Saarbrücken and Cologne, qualifying as a Rechtsanwalt in 1992. He then worked for two years in the tax department of an international auditing and tax consultancy in Cologne before completing his doctorate at the University of Cologne. For five years, he was employed as an expert in tax policy at an industrial association before joining the Volkswagen AG in Wolfsburg as Head of the Department "Tax Policy and Customs Duties" in the field of Corporate Taxation. He is responsible for customs duties, export controls, excise taxes and taxation policy in relation to the corporation. Dr. Raber deals with the taxation implications of projects and with international taxation and customs law.

Dr. Raber is member of the Tax Committees of the Business and Industry Advisory Committee (BIAC) to the OECD and of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). He is also chairman of the committee "Customs Duties and Excise Taxes" of the Verband der Automobilindustrie e.V.and lectures on European Tax Law at the Brunswick European Law School.
